- Trains listed above operate on daily basis. Train timetable is specified in GMT+8 Beijing China time zone and ticket price is quoted in Renminbi Yuan.
- Trains marked with asterisk * are deluxe trains with 2-bed luxury cabins. Price for lower luxury sleeper is RMB 867 Yuan and price for upper luxury sleeper is RMB 830 Yuan.
- There are two types of seats on the high speed bullet D train: first class seat and second class seat.
- On normal speed trains including 4-digit train, K train, T train and Z train, sleepers are classified into two types: soft sleeper and hard sleeper. Hard sleeper has three sub-categories: upper hard sleeper, middle hard sleeper and lower hard sleeper; Soft sleeper has two sub-categories: upper soft sleeper and lower soft sleeper.
- Advance ticket reservation is 11 days maximum. China has world's busiest rail system, you are suggested to reserve the ticket in advance to make sure your travel plan will not be delayed.
Advance ticket booking period may be shortened to 3-5 days during "golden week" holidays such as China National Day (October 1-7), Chinese Spring Festival and etc.
- Beijing Railway stations and ticket agencies sell tickets for different places. For example, you can buy Shenzhen-Guangzhou train ticket while you are still staying in Beijing City.
- You can trust: train schedule timetable and ticket fare listed here are almost 100% correct and up-to date. We will update the page whenever there is any change.

Question:
We are planning to take a train from Harbin to beijing on 3 Feb 2012. I have checked the train number Z2 will be suitable to us. we have 10 people in the group which need to purchase 10 tickets on soft sleeper cabins. Can you let me know that how many beds in each cabins? How do I organize the tickets? what is condition apply? we are all from Australia and all senior travellers. Is any discount for the overseas visitors?
Answer:
- There are four beds each soft sleeper cabin: two upper soft sleepers and two lower soft sleepers. Price for lower soft sleeper is a bit higher than that of upper soft sleeper because it has good position and people don't need to climb to the bed to sleep in. For your reference, there are six beds each hard sleeper cabin: two upper hard sleepers, two middle hard sleepers and two lower hard sleepers. As mentioned above, lower hard sleeper has the highest price comparing to the other two types of hard sleepers. You can check interior photos of China Train on this link: http://www.beijingchina.net.cn/transportation/train/interior-photos-of-china-train.html
- Train tickets are sold in fixed price in China. No matter how many ticket would you like to reserve, they will not sell the ticket in discounted price because train tickets are in a seller's market. Train tickets are so hot: some times, you can't get tickets you wanted even if you reserve them in advance.
- We would need the following information to make sure we can deliver the ticket to you on time:
1. Your full name, passport number and nationality.
2. Hotel name, address and telephone in Beijing downtown.
3. Best date to deliver the ticket to you. We work from 9am to 5pm.
We accept payment by Paypal only
Question: My wife and I will be in China from January 22 to January 29, 2012. Our plan is to visit Beijing and Harbin. I wish to purchase tickets from you. I would like to know:
- What is the difference between the Z1 and Z15? How about the D28 and D102?
- What are my seat or bed choices for the Z1, Z15, D28, and D102? And how much do you charge for each ticket?
- I saw in the website that there are 4 soft sleepers in one cabin. If we purchase 2 tickets only, is the cabin ours? Or will there be 2 other people that will share the cabin?
Thank you for your time.
Best Regards,
Answer:
Hello, let me answer your questions:
- There is really no big difference between Z1 & Z15 as well as D28 & D102. The only difference maybe that one has more middle stops than another even though they are running on the same route.
- You can choose either bed or seat ticket on Z train, however, on the D train, you will have to choose between first class seat (more spacious) and second class seat as Beijing-Harbin bullet D train don't have sleeper (bed) to offer.
- One soft sleeper cabin can accommodate 4 persons, therefore, your wife and you will have to share the cabin with another two people unless the other two sleepers keep un-reserved (this almost never happens as Beijing-Harbin is a hot travel route). In case you don't want to share a room with other people, you can then choose to reserve a deluxe 2-bed cabin. Check train schedule table above, trains marked with asterisk * are deluxe trains.
Question:
Dear Friends;
I'll be in Beijing arriving from the US on February 29. I need to travel to Harbin arriving by noon Sunday March 4. I will return to Beijing Saturday March 10 in the morning (in time for afternoon meetings in Beijing around 2:00 or 3:00pm).
I've been to Beijing 4 times in the last 12 years, but never to Harbin.
I'm considering two alternative plans:
FIRST OPTION:
A train to Harbin on Saturday March 3. My main reason is to see the landscape and countryside. I see on the schedule that there are many choices. To see the countryside in daytime, it seems best to take the D25 train departing Beijing at 7:13am, arriving Harbin at 4:20pm. Can you please confirm the cost of the ticket (and the departing station in Beijing)?
However, I may be traveling with a companion, in which case we could take that train, or instead, an overnight train (missing the sights but enjoying the experience of sleeping on the train!) In the latter case, I see the Z15* train. I believe your notes say that this is a bullet train with deluxe private (for 2) sleeping compartment with private bath/lavatory. What is the cost for that, for two persons?
Answer:
Let me answer your questions:
- You can trust to use this page to plan your train travel between Beijing and Harbin. Train schedule and ticket price are 100% correct and up to date. Trains for Harbin depart from Beijing Railway Station (not Beijing South, Beijing West or Beijing North).
- Yep, Z15 is a deluxe train and price for a deluxe two-bed cabin (one upper sleeper+one lower sleeper) is RMB 1697 Yuan (830+867) or USD 269 dollar.
- Advance train ticket reservation period is 10 days, therefore, it's too early to book train ticket for now. You can reserve ticket after your arrival in Beijing, or you can let us to reserve ticket for you.
