  Inner Mongolia is the Mongol Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, located in the country's north. Inner Mongolia's neighboring provinces from east to west are Heilongjiang, Jilin, Hebei, Shanxi, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Gansu, and to the north it borders Mongolia and Russia.
  Inner Mongolia is the third-largest subdivision of China spanning about 1,200,000 square kilometers or twelve percent of China's land area. Its capital city is Hohhot, and major cities include Hohhot, Baotou, Wuhai, Chifeng, Hulunbuir, Tongliao and Ordos.
  In the capital city Hohhot of Inner Mongolia, the best tourist attractions include Dazhao Temple, a Lamaist temple built in 1580. Xiaozhao Temple, Xilituzhao Temple and Zhaojun Tomb. Famous attractions in Inner Mongolia also include the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, located in Ordos City, the Bashang Grasslands is a popular retreat for urban residents wanting to get a taste of grasslands life. And Xiangshawan is located in the Gobi Desert, as well as the Five-pagoda Temple is located in the capital of Inner Mongolia Hohho.
