2. Running on Beijing-Qingdao railway routes are three types of trains: high speed bullet G train using CRH3 series, high speed bullet D train using CRH2 series and normal speed K train. G train has highest speed and highest comfort, meanwhile, it is the most expensive mode of transportation.
3. K train has three types of tickets: seat ticket, hard sleeper ticket and soft sleeper ticket. Hard sleeper has three sub-categories: upper hard sleeper, middle hard sleeper and lower hard sleeper; Soft sleeper has two sub-categories: upper soft sleeper and lower soft sleeper. Lower sleeper is more spacious and more expensive.
4. D train and G train have three types of tickets: second class seat ticket, first class seat ticket and VIP class seat ticket. VIP seat is multi-functional and it also can be used as a sleeper bed.
5. Advance ticket reservation period (maximum) is 11 days. China has world's busiest railway system, you are suggested to reserve the ticket in advance to make sure your travel plan will not be delayed. Advance ticket booking period may be shortened to 3-5 days during "golden week" holidays such as China National Day (October 1-7), Chinese Spring Festival and etc.
6. Train stations and ticket agencies sell tickets for different places. For example, you can buy Shenzhen-Guangzhou train ticket while you are still staying in Beijing City.
